Art Pasut likes his space

You know Art Pasut and ‘Namfon’ Patcharin Judrabounpol are dating, right? I think for a while like 3 years. Well, the rumors about them started 3 years ago.

Art and Namfon made it official by attending the 22nd annual TV Pool Star Party event together, where they were asked to present an award as a pair.

There was a time when Namfon didn’t feel sure about their relationship, now she feels more confident. “I feel more confident now. There was a time when I couldn’t tell people completely because I didn’t feel confident, so I couldn’t say it with confidence.” Wow.

Art is known to be a playboy and he has admitted to be one also. During the interview, Namfon looked at Art and laughed. “It’s the truth. I knew he was playboy before. It could be the past or not.” She moves closer to Art and laughs: “at the present I haven’t seen it. If I do see it, we can discuss it (laughs).”

Art likes Namfon because they mesh well together.

“I have known her for a long time now. She has a lot of habits that fits well with me, for example, she is attached to the ground. Wherever we go, she can do anything. Sometimes she is well-mannered, sometimes she is meddling. It makes me aware that I have a sweet girl. Sometimes when she is being fussy, it makes me feel not alone.”

When Art goes out with buddies, Namfon doesn’t act like a nagging girlfriend. She gives him space.

“Whenever I go out, wherever, however, she doesn’t say anything. She only BBs to ask when I’m going and when I’m coming back. She has never called to ask when I am coming and when I can come. She has never done that.”

Art is an independent guy, he doesn’t like to be kept in a  tight leash. Namfon doesn’t do that to him, pressuring him to do this or that.

Winners at the first annual Nataraja awards 2009

Compared to other awards show in Thailand, the Nataraja awards was a pretty classy affair. No one wore jeans and the setting didn’t look cheap. The trophy is something I would want as a decorative piece in my house, it was a beautiful gold trophy of a Thai traditional dancer.

The event brought tears to many peoples’ eyes twice, first with  “Aof” Pongpat Wachirabunjong’s acceptance speech and the second was when Nok Sinjai, Nok Jariya, and Aof Pongpat sang the song “Kwarm Fun An Song Sot (The highest dream)”. Before singing, the three pledged their allegiance to the King and asked the people of Thailand to stop the disagreement and fighting. The song was profound and it caused many to weep.

It wasn’t all gloom and tears, Anne Thongprasom did bring in laughs when she didn’t realize which lakorn she won the award for. She was too excited. Last night, she won the best actress award for her role in “Soot Sanaeha (A recipe for Love)”, but Anne mistaken thought she won it  for her role in  “Borisud Bumbut Kaen(The Revenge Therapy Company)” and started thanking her co-star Aum Atichart and the crew for that lakorn. Then someone from the audience clued her in that she was thanking the wrong people. Anne then said, ‘what series did I win this award for?’ Everyone laughed and “Captain” Puthanate Hongmanop who presented the Best Actress award, showed her the card. It was for “Soot Sanaeha (A recipe for Love)”. OPPS!

News bite for July 16, 2009

1. Pinky’s mother approves of her daughter’s new love interest Songkran Techanarong; however, she advises Pinky to take it slow.

“If they like each other, I won’t say anything; however, I do want them to study each other more. I want my daughter to take it slow…be friends, get to know each other continuously. I do want someone to come love my daughter just like the way my husband and I do. They should not get into arguments and then not forgive each other and easily break up. People who are dating should learn how to forgive each other.” Pinky’s mother told reporters when asked about the matter.

Is she hinting something? Did Pinky and Aum had very immature relationship where they argued and didn’t forgive each other? Interesting. This time around, I hope Pinky does it right. Though I highly doubt it. Songkran is known to be a playa and has been linked to many female celebrities, Pinky is not his first.

Pat and Namfon’s lakorn opening ceremony

Earlier this week, the production company Step Onward held an opening ceremony for two of their upcoming lakorns: “Theptida Pla Rah (The Goddess of Pickled fish)” and “Lah Pee Porb (La Ogress)”. Both are comedies.

“Theptida Pla Rah (The Goddess of Pickled fish)” stars Art Pasut and Pat Napapa. Art is a high society guy and Pat is a girl from the country who sales pickled fish. “Lah Pee Porb (La Ogress)” stars Namfon Patcharin Judrabounpol and Aon Sarawut, it’s a horror comedy.

Watch it on Youtube

I love how in the interview, they had to clear news about their personal life. Art and Namfon were questioned about their relationship to which they deny. Pat was questioned about her latest beau.

New evening lakorn: “Look Sao Gamnan”

[opening ceremony pictures from October 24, 2008]

For some reason, I rarely watch evening lakorns. Actually I do have a valid reason as to why, because it’s daily (meaning Monday-Friday), nothing ever happens in just one episode. They span it out, they pucker up on Monday and actually do the thumb kiss on Friday. You have to wait and wait until something major happens and each episode is like a filler episode. It’s better just to wait until it finishes and watch it all at once.

Oddly“Look Sao Gamnan (The Village Chief’s daughter)” seems worth the torture. It’s a musical lakorn with actual singer/actors playing the lead roles. Actor Tui, who is playing the male lead role (pra’ek) started out as the winner of the Academy Fantasia reality/singing talent show, 3rd season. Top Nuttanan is a singer and is also known as “Top: the singer”, part of the Ch3 singing contest show. Apaporn Nakornsawan is a famous Lookthung singer, she sang the “Plump Shape” song in “Mae Ka Kanom Wan (Dessert Girl)” in episode 1.They are all decent actors with exceptional singing skills. Another major seller for “Look Sao Gamnan” is the return of Warut Worraantum (veteran actor from “Koo Gum ( ill fated lovers)”, the movie with Jintara Sukkapat) to lakorns. I don’t know about you, it’s a buy for me.

Essentially the plot of “Look Sao Gamnan” centers around a philandering Village Chief of Tung Din Dum, Danai (Warut) and his meddling and tomboyish daughter Tangmoe (Namfon). She wants him to settle down with a decent woman, Yoopin (Mayuree) but he wants to mess around with Wantha (Ning), a local shop owner in their town. Gamnan Danai prays for someone to save him from his meddling daughter and soon after we see the arrival of Deputy Chaiya (Tui) to Tung Din Dum. Deputy Chaiya instantly falls in love with Tangmoe when she beats up him up over a misunderstanding the first time they met. The rest of the story follows the struggles of Deputy Chaiya in trying to win over Tangmoe’s heart.

“Look Sao Gamnan” is set to premier on February 25, 2009, it’s a daily 30 minute lakorn starting at 7:15pm Thailand time every Monday-Friday.

Cast and Characters:
“Tui” Kiatkamol Latha as Deputy Chaiya
“Namfon” Patcharin Judrabounpol as Tangmoe
Warut Worrantum as Gamnan Danai (Village Chief Danai)
Mayuree Pongpoodpun as Yoopin
