Lets scream for ‘Ms. Scream’

A romance comedy starring Jui Warattaya, ‘Oil’ Thana Suthikamol, ‘Sammie’ Pantitha Puwijaan, Tawin Yaowapalakul, and also Jamie Buher as nang’rai. Jui is Jirawatee (Jaem), a young woman from the slums who works as a professional screamer. Concert promoters pay her to scream at concerts and to scream like a crazy fangirl for pop idols.
Oil Thana is Punatorn, a man who studied aboard, has an MBA but wants to be a pop singer. His father most definitely disapproves because the guy can’t sing or dance. Still wanting to prove himself and to pursue his dream, he begs his father for time, 3 months to be exact. If he doesn’t succeed as a singer, he will come back to work for the family company. Punatorn has one younger brother, Tipreeti played by Tawin Yaowapalakul and a fiancé, Yosita played by Sammie Pantitha. Tipreeti secretly has a crush on Yosita but keeps it to himself out of respect for Punatorn.
Panatorn and Jirawatee’s lives begin to collide with each other when she rises from being a screamer to being a beauty pageant contestant and he begins his singing career.
“Nang Greet (Ms. Scream)” is schedule to air this Friday October 2, 2009.

The 2nd season of Superstars

The theme for this year is ‘Fantasy world’. Superstars is a reality show where they recruit D-list stars, have them live together, put them into groups each week, and train them to do musical numbers for weekly shows. It reminds me of dancing with the stars but not really. It’s a more flashy show, they don’t have trained professionals helping them out on stage, and the style is more like a cabaret show. Let me tell, the show is colorful.
The contestants are competing for a truckload of money. Last year, ‘Gof Akara Amarttayakul won. He took home 10 million baht (286,956.40 USD) in cash and other prizes. In total, he won 17 million baht (487,825.8749 USD). Yes, a whole lot of “Do-Ri-Me”. The last standing 3 finalist don’t leave empty-handed either. Fluke, Tak Bongkot, and Jik Naowarat, last years losing finalist, took home prizes worth more than 2 million baht (57,391.2794 USD). Not too shabby.
Last year there were 14 contestants. This year, there are only 10. Superstars will air every Saturday nights at 9:30pm on Modern 9 starting September 26, 2009. You can check out their website here.

Dan at Central World filming his lakorn

Fan stalking pictures of “Dan” Worawech Danuwong at Central World filming his lakorn “Goolap Son Nam (Thorned Rose)” last Saturday, April 18, 2009.
This is what Dan keeps repeating about this lakorn–real kisses, real slaps, and several buckets of tears. Apparently it’s suppose to be intense.
“Goolap Son Nam (Thorned Rose)” will center around two brothers: Dan and Oil Thana, who are love with the same girl, “Ae” Issariya Saisanan. Dan is the beloved younger brother while Oil is the outcast older brother. Originally, Ae is Dan’s girlfriend, I believe by the end of the series, Ae becomes Oil’s girlfriend. Don’t worry about Dan’s character, he is paired up with someone too, newcomer Bo Chotima.
It’s roughly 60-70% done, most likely it will air late summer or early fall.

Oil Thana wants a slap and kiss

I swear Oil Thana is just too funny, he is currently filming the lakorn “Goolap Son Nam (Thorned Rose)”, a Dan Danuwong production. In the lakorn, Oil jokes he is continuously getting slapped by Ae’s character but never gets the chance to kiss her. A slaps is followed by a kiss, it’s lakorn logic, he jokes.
“When I read the script, I didn’t think it would be this bad. Gradually as we started filming, it became more strenuous. It’s a new type of lakorn for me because I have to bring out my “emotions” a lot. I had to do a lot of homework for this character. In this story, I’m a kid with a problem. I hate my younger brother and secretly harbors feelings for his girlfriend. My character secretly runs off a lot and cries by himself, I have to use all my emotions. Not only am I going to be abused by Ae Issariya and P’Num Santisuk, I’m going to be in many fights and get loads of slaps in the face. My cheeks get all bruised after Ae slaps me because it’s for real, you can see hand marks across my face. IT REALLY HURTS! My face becomes numb from the pain and my eyeballs come together. I asked P’Pin (the director)…normally if their is a slap, shouldn’t there be a kiss following it? But I never get a chance to do a KISS! (LAUGHS).”

February is the month for HORROR!

Oddly for the month of “LOVE”, both Ch3 and Ch7 are releasing horror lakorns: “Saab Poosa (Cursed Garment)” of Ch3 and “Porb Pee Fah (The Heavn Spirit)” of Ch7. Both lakorns are very similar— angry female spirits out for revenge.
“Porb Pee Fah” will premier on February 4th, it will replace New and Pinky’s lakorn “Khun Ying Lom Sing” for the Wednesday and Thursday time slot. Yui Jiranan, Sammie Pantitha Puwijaan, and Oil Thana will lead the cast and form the ghost and mortal love triangle. I have not read the summary.Luckily for you, Tina has translated the summary at her blog. “Porb Pee Fah” is a remake of Noon Woranuch and Nuti Kemayothin’s lakorn going by the same name.

New Cast. Though Sammie and Oil look very cute together, I don’t think I’m going to watch this because horror lakorns are not my thing.
Ch3′s “Saab Poosa” is set to replace Borisud Bumbut Kaen on February 19, 2009. This lakorn stars Ae Issariya, Tanya Tanyares Ramnarong, Aun Wittaya, Nampeung Nattarika, Chai Chattayodom, and Aom Sakaojai. Ae will play Maipim, a young woman who works at a antique shop. One night, a mysterious person drops off an archaic fabric at her shop and she keeps it. What she doesn’t know is that the fabric is cursed by an vindicative princess from centuries ago. Whoever touches the fabric becomes possessed by the vengeful princess. Chai plays the princess’s reincarnated ex-lover; the princess uses Maipim’s body to reek havoc on her former lover’s life. Kinda unbelievable, but okay, it’s a lakorn.
