Mos’s new lakorn

It’s another romantic comedy for Ch5 after Bie and Vill’s successful lakorn “Dok Ruk Rim Tang (Roadside Crown Flower or Crown Flower on the edge of the road)”.

“Hua Jai Ploy John (Jumping Gem Heart)” starring “Pim” Pimmada Borriruksooppakorn and ‘Mos’ Patiparn Pataweekarn will premier tomorrow, June 29th. It’s a semi-musical/ mistaken identity lakorn set in  rural Thailand about a man who owes money and is on the run.

Mos is Vorapat, a guy with the most unfortunate fate. His occupation is a salesman at a company and he has the worst best friend ever. Udom (“Louis” Pongphun Phetchbantoon), Vorapat’s best friend screws him over by making him owe 10 million baht to a company. Vorapat doesn’t have the money, so he goes on the run to save his life. I guess it’s a shady company run by the mob or some underbelly organization.

By chance he runs into Boonkerd ( played by Thai country singer Tai Tanawut), a fortunate taxi driver, who is heading back to his hometown to accept an inheritance. On the way, Boonkerd gets into a car accident, the car capsized. He is badly injured and suffered a coma. As Boonkerd is in a comatose state at the hospital, Vorapat is mistakenly identified as Boonkerd and is taken to Boonkerd’s hometown in a parade.

As Boonkerd, Vorapat inherits a brass band once headed by Boonkerd’s grandfather and a large sugar palm plantation, several hundreds of acres large. Vorapat also falls in love with Saenwan (“Pim” Pimmada Borriruksooppakorn), a spunky gal whose father is aiming to have her married off to Boonkerd.  As such, Vorapat enjoys his life as Boonkerd. He begins to believe he can pass as Boonkerd.

As time goes by, Vorapat faces a dilemma–sell the sugar palm plantation to pay off his debt or keep the plantation and make everyone happy. Eventually reality catches up with Vorapat, he’s not the real Boonkerd. The real Boonkerd wakes from his coma and is coming back to claim his inheritance.

Pattie and Kao are very bright for Sudsapda magazine

Behind the scenes look at  ‘Kao’ Jirayu La-ongmanee and ‘Pattie’ Ungsumalynn Sirapatsakmetha’s Sudsapda magazine cover photoshoot for the month of MAY 2010.

The crew noted, by himself, Kao was confident and looked very handsome. Then it was time to take pictures with Pattie, his magazine cover partner for the day, Kao tensed up. To break the ice and  to help him relax, his mother teased him. “Kao, don’t be afraid of P’Dan (Worawech Danuwong),” she told him. Everyone roared with laughter when she said that and Pattie smiled with shyness when she heard her boyfriend’s name being mentioned.

Kao will star in a new film titled “Love, Love Julinsee (Love Love Microorganism?)”. He plays the guy lead with a newcomer nang’ek. Filming will begin soon and the expected release date will be in October. Kao said he was excited and is preparing himself by hitting the gym to bulk up.

Not my boyfriend just yet

This is the thing with Thai celebrity relationships, they will ‘see’ each other for months or years until they admit they are official–they will use the term ‘peuan sanit (My close friend)’ to describe their partner, but never use the boyfriend or girlfriend term.

As soon as they allow the media to use the ‘boyfriend and girlfriend’ term and make their relationship official, it only takes a month for their relationship to crumble. Like someone said, Pinky and Aum spent more time ‘talking’ than actually being an official couple.

Eighteen year old Pattie and twenty-five year old Dan Danuwong’s relationship is pretty much going on that same route–stalling their official relationship status and making people continue to guess and pay attention to them. Pattie has a lot of male fans vice versa Dan has a lot of female fans. It’s strategy. If it is not official, they are still obtainable.

Patty is asking the public to be patient about her relationship with Dan, she doesn’t want to use the term ‘friend (my girlfriend or boyfriend)’ just yet.

“Oi, to call him my boyfriend? I have to think about that a bit more. I think that if I’m going to be in love for the the first time, this love will be my first love. I just want to be certain about it first.”

Dan is the first person to who Patty has taken seriously. “Right now, Dan is the person, who is very close to me. We started talking since the filming of ‘the Spy’–their sitcom. About half a year. I feel relaxed talking to him. Whatever it is, we can discuss them. P’Dan is a hardworker, a mature adult. When we are together, when I talk to him, he can always make me smile.”

This is the first time Dan has confessed to talking to a girl, Patty feels delighted to be his first.

“I feel good, I feel like he is giving me respect, I feel delighted.”

Though Dan is with Patty, he still has rumors with other girls. Patty is not concern because she knows he is not that type of person.

“Where ever he goes, with who, whether it be going to watch a movie with who ever, he has the right to do so. We give each other space. When we are seeing someone, we have to have trust. Since always, he has told me about them though I didn’t ask. He tells me himself. Everyone woman typically fear a man who is a player. Since the day we started working together and started talking, I don’t think he is that type of person. That is my personal opinion.”

Patty hopes that her relationship with Dan will continue to be bright. “Right now, we are talking and it’s been good. It has given me moral support as I work. If the future continues to be good like this, I will be very happy.”

After hearing from both sides, they seem like a mature couple.

Dan is seeing Pattie

Twenty-five year old actor/singer ‘Dan’ Worawech Danuwong has been seeing 18 year old rising star ‘Pattie’ Ungsumalynn Sirapatsakmetha for half a year now. Wa. I did not expect this at all. Dan opened up about their relationship today at a fashion show in the Paragon shopping center.

They connected while filming their sitcom “the Spy”, a television remake of the film “Bedside Detectives”.

“We met while filming the lakorn (sitcom) together. When I first met her, I didn’t like her yet. I was indifferent because I’m a person who needs time to like someone. After working together, seeing her everyday, she turned out to be a lovable girl. She is not like other girls I have met before. We normally go out to eat together and go to watch a movie together.”

For Valentine’s day, they went out to eat and he gave her flowers.

Dan is not too concern about his fanclub’s reaction because from what he knows, they are accepting of his relationship. “There shouldn’t be an objection because I’m an adult now. If something like this comes into my life, me talking someone, I have said that I would be opened about it and I have. I consider it an act of talking and giving each other support. I’m not abandoning work or my fanclub. I still love my fanclub and will still pay attention to all the members. This is just another thing that has come into my life that has given me encouragement in my work.”–It sounds like he is pleading  with his fanclub to support his relationship and to not abandon ship.

He has met her parents and they are not  keeping their relationship a secret. “I’ve met them, I’m doing everything very normally, I’m not hiding our relationship from them. I have gone to dinner with her parents already.”

Dan never said Pattie was his girlfriend, but they are heading down that road. He is leaving it to the future, if it works out, then it would be a good thing.

Dan has always kept his relationships a secret from the public, reporters wondered why he is being frank about it now. “It’s a good feeling we have for one another, I don’t want to hide it because we will be talking and going to a lot of places together. I don’t want to hide it. I’m doing everything in a the right frame. Right now, we are getting to know each other and working. Nong Pattie is studying and working and we give advice to each other. If the future will be good, I hope it continues to be that way.”

A special viewing of “Bangkok Traffic Love Story”

Yesterday, Ken’s new movie “Bangkok Traffic Love Story or I rode a skytrain to see you” held its special viewing at Central World. Of course, Ken brought his wife Noi as a date to this mini premier. I must say,  they are very adorable together. During the interview with the press, Noi did most of the talking while Ken attentively stand by her side adding tidbits here and there. As she gave her interview, he stared at her like a doting husband. You can watch the interview here. Their dynamic is quite interesting, their movements sync with each other like a true happily married couple.

With the reporters, Noi talked about the film, she liked it. If she wasn’t married, she would like the film much more. Many young women can relate to it. “It’s very watchable. I think young women will like this very much. I have never seen something like this before. After seeing it, it put a smile on my face. He seems pretty excited about it. If you’re not married yet, you would like it,” Noi said to the reporters in support of Ken’s film.

As for returning to acting in lakorns, Noi said not for a while. Reporters asked whether it is because Ken would not allow her to. Noi joked that is not the case at all. “He has given me permission already. At this point, you can say he is chasing me out to go work. Ken can’t handle it anymore, he’s tired. He wants to stay home and raise our child. I have not agreed to anything yet. I’m waiting. If something good appears, I’ll do it.”

Will you two ever do a lakorn together as a couple. In response, they both shook their heads ‘no’ , laughed, and said in unison: “never. We’re tired of seeing each other.” Noi then added, it would be odd.

As for trying for their second child, they are doing it naturally.Unplanned. When it happens, it will happen.

About their son Kunatum, has he reached that naughty stage yet, the reporters asked. “Somewhat,” said Noi. “He knows a lot more and is starting to talk. He can say ‘dad’ but not ‘mom’.”

The reporters then asked Noi whether she felt hurt by it. A little, Noi told the reporters. “He’s with me everyday and he never says ‘mom’. But when his dad comes home, he lights up. He misses his dad. But his first word was ‘milk’  or ‘mum’, something like that. He was cared for by his father that he is why he adores him.”

Ken is very proud that his son can say ‘papa’. In a doting way, Ken said, “he can say it very clearly too.”

On to the film…

According to a person who has seen it, it was good. They give it a 9/10. The film is light-hearted and uncomplicated, it will put a smile on your face. There is always something going on, it’s not a boring film, said the person. And Cris Horwang is convincing as Meylee, the 30 year old spinster. “I must admit, I like Cris Horwang very much. She was excellent, I have never followed her work before. Actually, I don’t even know who she is. I just knew her name. However, she was able to make me love and cheered on the Meylee character throughout the film, ” said a person at Pantip. We’ll see. I have to see the film for myself to decide, which won’t be for another few months.

The film will open nationwide on October 15, 2009.
