“A Divided Heart” is one saucy lakorn

This series is so fudged up, I freaking love it. When I saw the trailer for Taew and Por’s latest lakorn “A Divided Heart” and read the plot line, I judged it to be a typical, lame, repetitive lakorn. Now, I have to take it all back.  Really, I did not expect “A Divided Heart’ to be this good and have layered characters with fudged up backgrounds. Por, our pra’ek, is a good guy who is jaded by the immoral people around him. I think he has been disappointed too many times in his life by these people. In some way, his jaded/overly righteous personality comes from his overbearing father played by Pongpat Wachirabunjong. Though we saw Pongpat’s character briefly, I have a feeling there is tension between father and son. The father doesn’t think his son is good enough.

My favorite fudged up character thus far is DON, our second pra’ek and portrayed by Boy Pakorn. His family background is so intensely messed up, you kinda want to pay for his therapy session. Don is the only child of Sia Araya ( “Au” Thanakorn Posayanon) and his wife Tip (Penpak Sirikul) and they are the worst parents ever. You can tell Don is embarrassed by them. Don’s parents have an open relationship, they are still legally married and live in the same home, but openly keep younger lovers. His mother Tip is kinda like a pedophile, she likes younger- younger men, possibly under the legal age. It’s borderline sad when a son has to warn his mother to check her younger lovers identity card to make sure he’s legal! Ew! I feel so bad for this guy.

This is the scene where Don has to tell his mother to check her younger lovers identity card to make sure he’s legal. His mother’s lover was choosing his clothes to wear and he’s totally fine with it. Apparently, this is not the first time. Don’s only problem, the guy is choosing from the wrong side of the closest.

Don tells his mother:”It’s fine. Didn’t I tell you before, have your “dek” (meaning kid, or a person working for you, or is part of your crew if you’re an adult) choose from the left side, the right side are my new clothes.”"

His mother carelessly apologizes and is about to leave, he stops her and gives her a warning. “Mom, I want to give you a little warning. I find the ‘friends’ that you have brought home have become younger and younger every time. If you are going to meet up with someone or see someone, I think you need to check their citizen card first. If you get caught, it will be ruin our whole household.”

His mother was pretty ticked off by his warning and said she knows. Wow. SICK! Just sick! Really does she not know she is screwing him up emotionally. The guy doesn’t even want to come home because he disgusted by his parents’ behavior.
