Boy Pakorn is the most huggable guy for Sudsapda magazine

Top: Kao, Ter, Nadech, and Pong. Bottom: Pope, Boy, Dome, and Mark

By popular vote for Sudsapda magazine at their website and facebook account, the ranking of the 20 most huggable Thai guys of 2011. ‘Roi Marn (Trace of the Devil)’ star Boy Pakorn is ranked number 1 and ‘Ter’ Chantavit Dhanasevi came in last. I would agree, Boy did give one of the best hug and confession scene in  lakorn history in Roi Marn episode 13. It’s one of those scenes, you’ll remember for a long time.

He knocks on her door, she opens it terrified, not knowing who was there. On the other end, it’s him with a drained, exhausted face. He slowly walks towards her and wrapped his arm around her body.

‘I have something to tell you,’ he says. ‘Before we get a divorce tomorrow.’ He takes a pause. ‘I think…I think I am secretly in love with you. I don’t want it to be like this. I don’t want to get a divorce, but I don’t know what to do.”

He tears up quietly and so does she. Next big whopper question, ‘can I say with you tonight?’ AH.

‘Please don’t chase me away.’

She embraces him back  tighter and they wept in each others’ arms. Their relationship was twisted by family debt and obligations. Their marriage was a force one and her cousin was a jealousy B. From the beginning it was not meant to be easy.

Pong Nawat has been tapped to do ‘Ban Sai Thong’

I have not seen the original, all 100 of them or how many there are of this series. When it’s good, they keep remaking it- I believe this is the third or the fourth remake of the lakorn version. Yah. It’s one of those classics they will remake every 10 years or so.

In the latest version, Sir Pong Nawat has been approached by Daravdo productions to play the lead role of Chai Klang–the charismatic, do-gooder, who will marry our nang’ek and help her reclaim her role as the lady of Ban Saithong.

Pong feels honored to be approached for this role, it is a classic. Actors become national level Thai stars when they take part in this lakorn.  He wants to be part of it, but his schedule is packed with Exact Scenario lakorns. ‘We talked about it and they (Daravdo) invited me to play (the role of Chai Klang) and I’m interested because it’s a good role. It’s a legend. I want to take on role. Right now, I have been clearing up my schedule because I am booked for 2-3 Exact Scenario lakorns,’ said Pong.

Pong has been approached because of his booked schedule, nothing has been confirmed. I don’t know. They did say the nang’ek is ‘Min’ Pechaya Wattanamontree. This will be a Ch7 lakorn,  which is alright. The problem lies in the production company of Daravdo, they don’t make good quality lakorns–not in terms of story or acting. It’s the production quality–the way they film, it looks disorganized and I don’t want to use the C word.

Pong Nawat has some explaining to do

Yikes, Mr. Pong Nawat has some serious explaining to do. Don’t tell me that is your cousin.

Pong Nawat at a pub, kissing a girl, holding a drink, pink faced, probably inebriated–there is nothing wrong with that. He is an adult. He does not need to explain anyhing to me or the Thai public. But with  ’Kaew’ Jarinya Sirimongkolsakul, the young lady he is supposedly dating, chatting with,  he does. Let me say it again, Yikes.

Words from Thai netizens.
‘On screen, he is a pra’ek. Off screen, this guy is truly a villian.’

‘Look at his face and eyes, does he look like he knows what is going on? Can he even stand straight?’–I don’t know, I just don’t know.

Bunny ears, peace sign, you’re so in trouble.

Pong Nawat and 19 year old Kaew FFK

She is the ‘K’ in the girl group FFK (Faye, Fang and Kaew), she is young, 19 years old, has a leading role in ‘Bangkok Kung Fu’ and oddly she is being linked to Pong Nawat, a 30-something lakorn actor. What?

Well at least it is not as shocking as learning that Ben Chalatit is gay and has been dating his long-time boyfriend for 8 years and they plan to start a family together with kids. That was totally unexpected and he lived an open gay lifestyle too. His family knew, but the whole world meaning the media and the public did not.

Pong Nawat as a child

Cheapskate Pong Nawat, who nearing a special occasion will start a random fight with his former girlfriend to not buy her gifts, as a child. Cute no?

Some people transform into an unrecognizable person when they get older, especially celebrities (surgeries), but Pong Nawat does not. From childhood to manhood, he still has those features that make him Pong Nawat–the smile, the eyes, and the nose. Dork!

Pong denies being a cheapskate, he just argued a lot with one of his former girlfriends on every special occasion–birthdays, Valentine’s Days, New Years, they argued. So he was teased, the reason why they had arguments nearing those special occasions is because he didn’t want to buy her gifts. In the clip below, Puri, Pong’s friend and co-star did tease that Pong has been stingy for a long time. Taking money out of Pong’s wallet is rather hard, he joked. Three of his friends and co-stars Puri Hiranpruk, Oh Anuchit, and Aom Piyada did agree Pong is a charming guy.

Some behind the scenes look at Pong and Aum’s upcoming lakorn “Nai Roy Ruk (In the Trace of Love)”
