I really don’t understand the purpose of the “Star Entertainment Awards 2008″, we’re half way through 2009 and we’re still celebrating the films and lakorns of 2008? Well at least we’ll see stars in pretty suits and dresses, if they show up.
Anywho here are the nominees for the Star Entertainment Awards 2008…
Dome’s nickname is the “handsome god on stage”–what the hell.
Four infamous male Thai stars graced the cover of LIPS magazine for their May 2009 issue, drenched wearing white Lacoste dress shirts. We have Dome Pakorn (infamous for being a manwhore), Film Rattapoom (infamous for pimping himself out to a gay concert promoter Sia Ood), Mario Maurer (infamous for having a fame-hungry girlfriend and the lawsuit with his former manager Coco), and AF4 “Tol” Vonthongchai Intarawat (I knew little about him, he probably has a gay rumor, every guy celebrity has one).

Film is on the cover to promote his latest album “Film Forward”. He has been in the entertainment industry for 7 years now.

I’m surprised by “Tang Chang Peuk” win because I didn’t think it was a great lakorn. Heck, I could barely get through it, I guess it won because of it’s life lesson theme to which I found a little twisted. Tah’s character raped and impregnated a woman, he was later force to marry her by his grandmother. When the woman died, then he reformed. I didn’t like his character too much.
All the major Thai celebrities were there, I could care less about the award show, I just want to see pictures. HAHA.

Ah, two feuding young starlets at the same event: Kwan and Pancake. Outfit wise, whose do you prefer? Kwan’s playful pink dress or Pancake’s modern chic white dress pants and tangerine- orange blouse.

For some reason, I rarely watch evening lakorns. Actually I do have a valid reason as to why, because it’s daily (meaning Monday-Friday), nothing ever happens in just one episode. They span it out, they pucker up on Monday and actually do the thumb kiss on Friday. You have to wait and wait until something major happens and each episode is like a filler episode. It’s better just to wait until it finishes and watch it all at once.
Oddly“Look Sao Gamnan (The Village Chief’s daughter)” seems worth the torture. It’s a musical lakorn with actual singer/actors playing the lead roles. Actor Tui, who is playing the male lead role (pra’ek) started out as the winner of the Academy Fantasia reality/singing talent show, 3rd season. Top Nuttanan is a singer and is also known as “Top: the singer”, part of the Ch3 singing contest show. Apaporn Nakornsawan is a famous Lookthung singer, she sang the “Plump Shape” song in “Mae Ka Kanom Wan (Dessert Girl)” in episode 1.They are all decent actors with exceptional singing skills. Another major seller for “Look Sao Gamnan” is the return of Warut Worraantum (veteran actor from “Koo Gum ( ill fated lovers)”, the movie with Jintara Sukkapat) to lakorns. I don’t know about you, it’s a buy for me.
Essentially the plot of “Look Sao Gamnan” centers around a philandering Village Chief of Tung Din Dum, Danai (Warut) and his meddling and tomboyish daughter Tangmoe (Namfon). She wants him to settle down with a decent woman, Yoopin (Mayuree) but he wants to mess around with Wantha (Ning), a local shop owner in their town. Gamnan Danai prays for someone to save him from his meddling daughter and soon after we see the arrival of Deputy Chaiya (Tui) to Tung Din Dum. Deputy Chaiya instantly falls in love with Tangmoe when she beats up him up over a misunderstanding the first time they met. The rest of the story follows the struggles of Deputy Chaiya in trying to win over Tangmoe’s heart.
“Look Sao Gamnan” is set to premier on February 25, 2009, it’s a daily 30 minute lakorn starting at 7:15pm Thailand time every Monday-Friday.

Actress and former Miss Thailand 2001, Nui Sujira denies the rumor that she is currently cosing it up with co-star Tui AF3 on the set of their sitcom “Ruk Tong Som ( Love Must Repair)” for Ch5. She told the press she is too old for Tui and she doesn’t see him that way.
In her words:
Really, there is nothing going on. The news that arise is more to promote the lakorn than the truth. Right now, Tui cannot respond to this news because he has a throat infection. As for the news that I hand feed Tui on the set of our lakorn, that would be impossible because his fanclub is a major obstruction. And, I don’t even think of Tui in that way. When he was sick, I didn’t visit him. Just now, I found out there is news about me wanting to cancel my time on set because I found out that Tui went to have surgery. There was no message, I had no chance to do so. The news had no backing. Plus, he is younger than me. There is no chance of me liking a child. I’m not saying that he is not a good guy, I’m just saying I don’t think of him in that way, that’s all.
Tui, a child? He is only 1 year younger than her.
He is 25 and she turned 26 this past August.
He was born on May 7, 1983 and she was born on August 8, 1982.

“Tui” Kiatkamol Latha: winner of Academy Fantasia (a talent-search TV reality show) Season 3, actor from the movie “Handle with Care”, and currently starring in the lakorn ” Botun Greep Sood Tai” as Aff’s adopted brother, at his home.
Tui’s house is not extravagant, it’s very quaint and homely.
Tui looked at many houses before purchasing and found them unattractive and too price, they were located in the center of Bangkok. He decided to go with this house because it fitted his price range and looked very spacious. He and his mother love houses that looked spacious.
Tui spent 300,000 baht ($8,888 USD) to decorate his house.
I like his lily pad pond with the Ganesh statue in the center and the hippos on the edge are just too scrumptiously adorable. It looks very peaceful, a place to come and sit and relax from a stressful day.
His room is very modest, borderline dull and Tui thinks so too.
Tui admits he spends most of his time in his room and finds it boring. Occasionally he uses the internet or play games to ease his boredom. Most of the time he just sleeps because he works a lot and rarely takes a holiday.
Wow, that’s a lot of Buddhas. Looks like my grandparent’s room but more organized.
