2 new lakorns from DIDA productions

First we have Pancake Khemmanid and Vee Veeraparb’s lakorn, “Tawan Yor Saeng (Evening Glow or Sunset Glory or just Tawan Yor Saeng)” that will be airing sometime this month. In the series, Pancake will be playing 3 characters–Duang Pon ( nang’ek’s mother), Tawan /Yor Saeng (nang’ek). Don’t get confuse, Yor Saeng and Tawan are the same person.

‘Tawan Yor Saeng’ is a birth identity lakorn, where the lead character grows up not knowing he or she is a wealthy man’s love child. Pancake will start out the series as Duang Pon, a beautiful woman who falls for a rich man, she becomes pregnant with his child and dies while giving birth to their daughter Tawan.

Tawan grows up not knowing about her biological mother and her rich father and she is raised by a woman to who she believes is her biological mother and an abusive stepmother who wants her sexually. When her mother kills her stepfather in self-defense, she is instructed to go into hiding by her adopted mother. Out in the world,  her true identity begins to unfold itself and she finds her biological father. Because she looks exactly like her mother, her father knows who she is. Isn’t that convenient?

When she starts her new life with her father (or not, I think he dies), her name changes to Yor Saeng and she meets Vee Veeraparb’s character who becomes her uncle, not biological, by marriage. Vee is Ah’Lek or uncle Lek, his older sister is married to Yor Saeng’s father. Lek is a good guy who begins his relationship with Yor Saeng as a doting uncle, but later develops feelings for her and she to him.  Isn’t that a complicated twist of family relations. The uncle by marriage falling in love with his niece to whom he has to care for.

According to Popcornfor2 forums, “Tawan Yor Saeng (Evening Glow or Sunset Glory or just Tawan Yor Saeng)” will replace “Kulap Neua Mek (Roses above the cloud)” on Feb. 9, 2010 for the Monday-Tuesday primetime slot. It will be total of 16 episodes and a film as you go lakorn.

The second lakorn is “Ruk Nai Marn Mek ( A Cloud of Romance)” staring Tle Tanapol and newcomer Min Pechaya, boran actress from “Pla Boo Thong (Golden Fish)”. I know little about this lakorn other than the fact that the nang’ek will be wheelchair bound.

The main cast of “Tawan Yor Saeng” which includes Pancake, Vee, Sammie (nang’rai), and some newcomer I don’t know his name.

Yes, this is lakorn where Pancake will be dressing like a boy.

White pants again!

Ch7′s leading men Vee Veeraparb, “Weir” Sukollawat Kanaros, Tawin Yaowapalakul in Kwanruen magazine for their January 2010 issue wearing e! white pants.

I don’t know why, I hate white pants. I hate it on women and I especially hate it on men. Why do they have to wear white pants. Or cream, or seashell white, or whateva you wanna call it. :) Same difference, it’s white to me. Like Red with bulls, white pants on men aggravates me. And yo, Tawin and Weir are sporting some serious granny white tennis shoes. I shouldn’t judge, I have bad taste in fashion too. When I was a kid,  I once wore a floral yellow dress with purple shoes to a graduation party. Yes, my mother said it didn’t go together but I wore it anyways. Yellow and purple do go together, but what I wore that day was H-I-D-E-O-U-S.

LOL, at Weir’s highwater pants.

The short one Win, the playboy Vee, Pancake’s teddy-bear Weir

Not really digging the pastel colors.

Kwan is a twin

One of the worst and overuse plotline in lakorn history would have to be the ‘twin’ separated at birth scenario, usually one twin is meek while the other is bold. Twin lakorns just annoy the living heck out of me, like can they not find anything better to do a lakorn about? It lacks originality and I get bored quite easily. So Kwan’s new lakorn is a ‘twin’ lakorn, yeppers and yawns, she is playing a twin. And guess what, one twin is weak and the other is bold and they don’t know they are twins. What a shocker! Where have we seen this before? I could name MORE than a few. At least twice a year, there is a twin lakorn.

Kwan’s first twin lakorn is titled  “Liam Ruk (Side of Love or Angle of Love, เหลี่ยมรัก)”, it will premier after Stefan and Jui’s lakorn “The Code of Hell” on December 24, 2009. Kwan’s two characters are Panisa (aka Tawan) and Palita (aka Fah), two twin girls separated at an early age by their father Vipoo (‘Dilok’ Thong Wattana) and mother KaeKai (Rungthong Ruamthong). The twin’s maternal grandmother disapproved of their mother and used every method to get rid of her and she eventually succeeded.  When the twins were very young, KaeKai left Vipoo and took her eldest daughter Tawan to live in Chiangmai. Fah stayed in Bangkok and was raised by her father Vipoo. Because she lived closer to her paternal grandmother who hated her mother, Fah is the docile one while Tawan who lived a normal life in Chiangmai is the outspoken and bold one.

Twenty years later when Tawan graduated from school and moved to Bangkok to find work, she randomly met Fah on several occasion and eventually learned that Fah was her twin sister. That always happens. Soon after learning about her ‘other’ family, Vipoo asked Tawan if she wanted to come live with them at their mansion. Knowing what her paternal grandmother did to her mother, Tawan moves in with the intention of getting revenge on the behalf of her mother.

Vee Veeraparb is the pra’ek in this lakorn and Tawan’s brother-in-law. From what I can tell from the teaser, Fah is forced to marry Vee’s brother and on several occasion, Tawan pretends to be Fah.

I think I need to find the longer summary to understand the story better.

The teaser was pretty saucy, maybe I’ll give it a try.

STAR ENTERTAINMENT AWARDS 2008 nominees

[winners from last year]

I really don’t understand the purpose of the “Star Entertainment Awards 2008″, we’re half way through 2009 and we’re still celebrating the films and lakorns of 2008? Well at least we’ll see stars in pretty suits and dresses, if they show up.

Anywho here are the nominees for the Star Entertainment Awards 2008…

Pancake’s new lakorn “Buang Hong”

This lakorn is airing next week and there are still no substantial promotional pictures. I find that extremely annoying. I know it’s a film as you go lakorn, but come one, take some pictures. Entice me, get me hooked. Nope, they are just going to air it without properly promoting it. Damn you Ch7.

I wonder how this is going to turn out, it is a remake of “Noi” Bussakorn Pornwannasirivej and John “Nuvo” Rattaneveroj. Supposedly, it’s a classic, an unforgettable lakorn adapted from a novel by Kingchat. I’ve never seen it, I can’t say whether the plot is good. Since this is film as you go lakorn, the story will definitely be change. Will die-hard fans be upset, I guess we will have to find out.

The lakorn “Buang Hong” follows the downfall of a high society girl named Pimlapas (“Pancake” Khemmanid Jamikorn), her life starts out rosy. She is a daughter of a wealthy man, she has a great boyfriend, and she is a well-known supermodel. Because fate can be cruel, in one day, she loses everything. Her boyfriend dumps her, her father dies, her stepmother played by “Namfon” Kullanat Preeyawat swindled all his wealth. In a blink of an eye, Pimlapas is penniless and an orphan.

During her desperate situation, she is contacted by a mysterious person, they give her an offer she can’t refuse. Pimlapas is assigned to penetrated a high-end hotel owned by Ramet (Vee Veeraparb) to steal important documents in exchange for a truck load of money.

First, she seduces Ramet. He instantly falls for her, gradually at their relationship progress, she starts to like him too. That’s her dilemma, she falls in love with a man to whom she is assigned to swindle.

On the day she decides to steal the documents, she is caught by Ramet. Though heart-broken and disappointed, Ramet doesn’t call the cops. Instead, he does something different. He blackmails her and makes her a server at the hotel’s dining room. Things were going well, she was paying back her debt to Ramet, then her stepmother arrives and trouble starts to stir in her life again.
