Pancake and Weir broke up?

Manager seems to think so, Siamdara too. To be honest I don’t know, right now it is only a rumor, a lot of rumors, from the internet, from various news media.  I want a concrete confirmation from both parties; honestly I don’t think we are gonna get that any time soon. They are celebrities, their relationship is a business tied in with their teddy-bear shop, endorsement deals, and event obligations. With these two, breaking up can’t be easy considering personal life and work life is tightly intertwined like fated lovers–someone is gonna die, someone is gonna lose their reputation. Maybe not, I might be thinking too negatively.

Weir did say to Siamdara that ‘if’ they were to break up, their business together will continue as always.

There is a rumor that Weir has moved out of Pancake’s guest house and the break up is the real deal. I don’t know. But Weir told Siamdara he hasn’t moved out. “I’m still living in the house nearby Pancake’s house like before–the same place. I have not moved to a new house. As for work and the business that we have started together…in the future I want my own business. Though in the days ahead I might not be her boyfriend and we are not together anymore, it doesn’t matter. I will be able to work with her like always.” Is he hinting something or am I thinking too much? I don’t know. I’m not a good predictor of break ups.

Scratch head, last week, it was reported at Manager that they were still together. Weir said they have been busy with work and filming their lakorns that they did not have time to see each other as often. ?? Today, Manager seems to think they have broken up and Pancake did the dumping. With a headline like this “Pancake, Nu Lerk Gap Weir Laew ka (Pancake, I have broken up with Weir already ka)”, what are we suppose to think?

How much do Thai stars make for appearances?

A lot in just a few hours.

Ken Theeradeth leads in this category for the guys. According to Lisa magazine, Ken is the highest paid actors for appearances. Just hanging out for a few hours, he gets roughly around 150,000 baht ($4,673 USD). After Ken is Aum Atichart,  Por Natthawut, and Bie Sukrit, they can make up to 100,000 baht ($3,115 USD) per appearance. As for “Weir” Sukollawat Kanaros, he hovers around the 60,000-80,000 baht ($1,869-2,492 USD) range. Now, if Weir makes an appearance with his girlfriend Pancake, his fee increases to 150,000 baht. As brand ambassador, their earnings would be in the 7 digits.

Pancake and Weir are immoral

This couple has been through a lot lately, there has been rumors of infidelity, Pancake is cheating on Weir, Weir is a drunk who smokes too much,  break up rumors. It’s the norm for this couple. They are loved and then they are hated. It’s part of this industry–you rise and then you fall and then you rise again.

This is so stupid, now the issue is this, there is a picture of Pancake sitting on Weir’s lap while she is playing cards and he is reading a religious book. There is money on the table, so the assumption is that Pancake is gambling while Weir watches on, reading a religious book. That is a big no-no. Gambling is illegal and religion is an important element in Thai culture, so we get ‘Mai Mor Som (Very inappropriate, unfit)’. Apparently, according to Manager news website, Thai netizens are complaining, it’s ‘mai mor som’.  Others who saw the picture find nothing wrong with it. “What is strange about this picture, I’m confuse,” said one Thai netizen. I’m confuse too, I see nothing wrong with it either.

Pancake said they were just playing around on set. The picture was intentional. Most importantly, she did not sit on his lap.

“I did not sit on his lap, that day a reporter came to ask; however, I don’t remember sitting on his lap. I asked P’Weir if I did. I was bewildered. I don’t think it’s anything. I think it’s comical like what am I reading here,” explained Pancake.

Weir said the same thing, she wasn’t playing cards.

“There was nothing. She was not playing cards. I was sitting on the bench of the table, she was sitting on a chair. It was a picture we had intended to take for fun while we had free time on set. It something fun to do on set.”

Pancake will remember this incident as a lesson. “I will consider the leaked picture as a lesson. At the beginning when this became news, I was confuse. How was it leaked? But it was nothing. It was okay. It is better than the other news. It’s funny. The elders have not asked for us.” –meaning the elders have not called them into their office for a scolding.

Contrary to the news about break ups and fighting, Weir and Pancake said they are doing fine.

“Like I said, since the beginning, we never had any problems. Since we are filming a lakorn (Duay Raeng Atitarn) together, it has helped our relationship be better. We get to talk more. It’s better than before actually,” said Pancake.

Readers at Manager where this article was published are complaining, who gives a fudge. It’s their personal business, why should we care? Pancake and Weir are not doing anything wrong. Hey, Thai netizens can be reasonable too.

A popular comment at Manager regarding this news:”How can you be serious about this? He is not a monk and she is not a nun. They are just like us. Play some, loose some. Don’t play no mind to this. To talk about them. You should look at yourself. She is not trying to steal another woman’s husband and she has parents watching over her. People, they judge others. They are that or this. Look at yourself, how good are you? Stop talking about each other kids. If they don’t steal, they don’t burn down the country, that’s good enough.”

Weir will stay with Ch7 forever

Well not forever, until he is 33. GEEZ. Ch7 is getting desperate, Khun Daeng is getting paranoid. She’s trusting no one. Though he has 2-3  years left in his contract, Khun Daeng has offered him a 5 year extension and Weir has accepted the offer.

Weir on the matter:”I have signed a new contract with Ch7, it was very fast. I wasn’t sure if I was going to because my original contract does expire until 2-3 years from now. That day I went to talk with Channel 7 and we talked about the various things that were happening, many different things. The elders said they have not seen me in a while. so I asked them in return how many more years do I have left in my contract. It’s about 2-3 years. Anyhow, after awhile, we came to the topic of the contract, I have signed on for 5 more years, my contract will expire in 2017. At that time, I’ll be 33.”

Weir is okay with the decision, he doesn’t feel trap by the contract. “I feel okay about it. I don’t feel tied down or anything of that sort. I have always thought that I would stay here always until I die I will be attached to this channel. I probably wouldn’t go anywhere. As for P’Vee, he has also signed a contract. I signed one day before I did. As for P’Cee, I don’t know, most likely he will. As for Nong Pan (Pancake, his girlfriend), she will extend it.”

Does Weir feel that by extending his contract he will get more lakorns? Probably not. He gets a lot of work from Khun Daeng.

“Currently I get assigned many already, at a minimum 2 lakorns per year, at most 4 lakorn per year. “

The rumors were true. Ch3 is making Khun Daeng feel nervous.
