Will Furious Tawan end with a TV rating of 20?

Considering this is Ch3, I doubt it–maybe for the Bangkok area, it could be possible. Counting for the whole nation, it could end with a TV rating of 15, which is not bad at all. Some Furious Tawan fans don’t care, they just know they like this show and TV ratings is just a number. “I’m not sure what the ratings are, but as for myself, Furious Tawan is a lakorn of value. From the lighting, sound, picture, the actors, and the crew, you guys are ‘excellent’, you won me over ka,” wrote a fan at pantip.

Last week, Furious Tawan saw a gain in TV ratings each day it aired–Friday=11, Saturday 12, and Sunday=13.

Ending recap:

With all the bloodshed and gunfight, Furious Tawan ended calmly with Tawan and Phetroong reuniting and hugging at the end. This lakorn was violent, every other minute, someone was being brutally murdered by a gunshot or a knife. ‘Hmm…it’s Tuesday, I’m gonna poke your eye out with a knife.’

Furious Tawan: Ep 7 romantic scenes

To be honest, I didn’t expect to like this series at all, since I have a passionate dislike for Thai action series. Oddly, with a recommendation from my parents who are more of a drama addict than I am, I started watching it. It’s good. I can’t get enough of Mark Prin and Yaya’s on-screen chemistry.

The backstory:

Tawan played by Mark Prin is out for blood for the murder of his parents 10+ years ago. He returns to the  lawless town of Phuprakan  and Rai Fah Roong (Daybreak Sky Farm), a plot of land that used to belong to his family and is now owned by Sukda and his two daugthers Phetroong (Yaya) and Ploykwan (Mint Chalida). Tawan plans to kill Sukda and the ruthless Por Liang Jaran (Johny Anfone), the two men who organized the massacre of his father and the people who worked for him.

Tawan returns to his old town and farm but his target Sukda is nowhere to be seen. Sukda killed the town sheriff and fled the town leaving his daughters Ploykwan and Phetroong to tend the farm on their own. Tawan waits for Sukda’s return by taking a job as a guard against bandits at the Fah Roong Farm and he starts to develop a relationship with Phetroong and Ploykwan.

During happier times, Phetroong and Tawan were childhood playmates, their fathers’ were best friends and they spent a lot of time together. Even as an adult, Phetroong still longs for her beloved Tawan, now disguised as Seua, her head guard at the Fah Roong Farm.

Phetroong is going through some tough times, her father is on the lamb and she receives news from her father’s assistant Khun Yut that she must marry the new sheriff in town Narong to save her father from prosecution. Narong is a powerful man and the son of General Reungrit. He and his father wants to own the Fah Roong farm because they think there are gemstones on the property.

Nadech and Yaya’s adorable Lay’s chips commercial

This is too cute!

They are walking up a hill, she crossed her arms and rubbed them repeatedly because she is cold. They stop, he looks over at her and sees that she is cold. He takes off his gray scarf and wrapped them around her neck. He gives her a nodding smile and they both look ahead at the misty gray mountain tops.

He looks over at her for the second time and sees that she is blowing and rubbing her hands together for warmth. In a kind gesture, he takes her hand and places it in his coat pocket along with his warm hand. She smiles and notices his Lay’s chip bag. With her other hand, she takes the last chip from the bag and then quickly pulled her other hand out from his coat pocket. He takes notice of her bewilderingly, like what are you doing gal? With a smile she says, ‘this is the last chip.’

She breaks it half and says “Lets share.”

At the end, the announcer concludes with: “Lay, a small piece of happiness that can be shared.”
