B.) Commonly used phrases in Lakorns (translated by Cecilia from Sarnworld)
01. “When are you coming back?”

02. “I will definitely come back for you. There is no way I am going to just leave you here.”
Chun ton glub ma pro(or jur which mean ‘meet’) tur. Mai mee un dai tee ja tun hai chun ting tur yu tee (trong) nee.
03. ”Better said than done.”

chun cheua tur, taa som mot (i think that’s how ‘what if’ means)

sawa dee kha/krap means Hello.
kob khun kha/krap means Thank u.
kha is polite ending used for woman.
krap is also polite ending used for man.

Hi lyn, what do Thais mean when they use the term strawberry (often shortened to s-taw)? I’m guessing along the lines of two-faced or similar?
Also, I’ve been trying to figure out what abaew means..

strawberry is a slang term meaning a girl who lies. yep, you got the idea.
strawberry is a less rude way to say “whatever bitch” in thai
the thai word for it is “dtor lae” (which is a very rude and inappropriate way to say it to people even if you dislike them.)

if you combine “dtor lae” and strawberry,
the thai will pronounce this “stor- beh-lae”
if you just picture this in the word strawberry it kinda sound like ‘dtor lae”

Khun – those who are not close to you. They can be younger or older than you.
Could I suggest Lyn. I think P’ and Khun should be put in the vocab page too as many people want to know.

P’ is a more informal way to refer to someone, but its a pretty personal way to address someone, but its use for someone you are familiar with like a lover, a friend, a sibling, someone who is older than you, but not much older…
Khun is a more formal way to address someone, someone you respect or has a higher social status than yourself
